There was no manual transmission option available for the SLK 32 AMG. The SLK 32 AMG introduced Mercedes’ new ‘SpeedShift’ 5G-Tronic (automatic) transmission, that allow for manual shifting of the gears, and faster automatic downshifts before overtaking. The car featured the same M112 engine as in the SLK 320, but has a helical twin-screw supercharger and water-to-air intercooler. The SLK 32 AMG was introduced in 2001, designed to rival the BMW M Roadster and Porsche Boxster S. After the 2000 facelift, the SLK 200 Kompressor was introduced to the worldwide market, replacing the SLK 200. The SLK 200 was exported and sold exclusively to Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Turkey, and Greece, and was only available with the Getrag five-speed manual transmission in most countries. Wider wheels were also available on SLK 230 Kompressor models. Models could also be optioned with the AMG body design package, that features body colour side skirts, chromed tailpipes, and 17-inch AMG alloy wheels.

The taillight assemblies were replaced as part of a recall repair and the hardtop hydraulic pumps, cylinders, and lines were replaced by Mercedes Benz of Ann Arbor, Michigan in October 2021. Additional equipment includes headlight washers, integrated fog lights, and a single exhaust outlet. The car is finished in black with a body-color retractable hardtop along with Kompressor badging. This SLK has 4,100 miles and is now offered with manufacturer’s literature, a clean Carfax report, and a clean New Jersey title. Work performed in October 2021 included replacing the battery and tires. Equipment includes a power-retractable hardtop, dual-zone climate control, cruise control, a cassette stereo, and heated seats.
The car is finished in black over black leather and is powered by a supercharged 2.3L inline-four paired with a five-speed automatic transmission. This 1998 Mercedes-Benz SLK 230 Kompressor is said to have remained registered to its original owner prior to being acquired in January 2022 by the selling dealer.
